The use of sensory play helps to develop nerve connections to the brain, language and motor skills as well as encourages problem solving, curiosity and creativity. Sensory play is much more than touch, it is any activity that stimulates the five senses including movement and balance. Children use their five senses to explore and investigate, observe and hypothesise while refining sensory information. Providing children with a variety of stimuli will tap into all of their senses enhancing cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural development.
