Outdoor Play

Playing outdoors can make the world of difference to how we feel. At Creative Classrooms we have put together some essential items required in all preschools, kindergartes and early childhood educational institutions. Fresh air and sunshine are necessary for good health, good sleep and general well being. Children who gain knowledge and appreciation of nature are more likely to become environmentally aware adults. Children need the opportunity to develop gross motor skills by using their whole body. Outdoor play in preschools gives them the freedom to run, jump, ride, skip hop and shout. In the playground, children get the opportunity to explore and have adventures, crawl through tunnels, climb over obstacles, construct large buildings and get involved in messy play with sand and water. Playing outdoors will help develop confidence, knowing limitations, self awareness and help to cope with challenges.
