Time can be a very abstract concept to grasp and this is why visual aids are so helpful. Kids can learn the analogue format used to show time on a clock face. You'll find a large variety of educational resources for teaching time such as wooden puzzle clocks that teach the ideas behind "big hand" and "little hand" on the clocks, location of the number on the clock face and how time measurements relate to specific daily activities such as lunch or bed time.
